  7. SET AVS3 was developed by Stardent Computer and has become the de facto
  8. standard for Scientific Visualization. AVS is available from a number of
  9. companies and systems including Cray, Convex, Evans & Sutherland, Stardent,
  10. DEC, and others. Set Technology is a charter member of the AVS consortium, and
  11. ported full AVS 3.0 to run with SCO ODT or SCO UNIX. AVS 3.0 includes new
  12. modules for image histogram, edge defect, anti alias, and others as well as new
  13. volume renders, chemistry and unstructured cell datatypes, as well as full
  14. network support to permit Set workstations and other AVS systems to work
  15. heterogeneously.
